Old Boys at Lyneham 1973

We were in the same form through his time at Churchers, great for the masters to have Fortune and Treasure in the same form.  After we left I met Tom again when we were both based at RAF Lyneham in Wiltshire.  I was an Army Air Despatcher loading my Hercules when I spotted the Air Engineer doing his checks pre flight.  I thought I better introduce myself so imagine my surprise when Tom turned round.  We had a bit of a chat - as you do, he surprised me even more when he told me that Collis, the star of the cricket X1 when we were in year 1 - was the co-pilot!  So for that early morning sortie down to the Scilly Isles at low level and back to drop our containers at Keevil (3hours flying or 2 minutes work - normal ratio for me these days!) the crew of 6 ( 2 Army + 4 RAF) had 3 OCs.  A great memory of a great lad who left a proper mark on all who knew and loved him.  RIP Tom - John Treasure
